Entrust benefits from increased IT spending during downturn
While the economy has struggled during the past year, most companies have not done very well — although perhaps not as bad as the year before. Not so for Entrust Technology Consulting Services. S.A. tech firm unveils software test lab to troubleshoot bugs
San Antonio-based ENTRUST Technology Consulting Services has added a new division that will test and research new software for small companies that don't have that capability. The lab has been researching new software part time since December but began the work full time March 1. According to Mitchell Sowards, consulting services manager with ENTRUST, many small businesses don't have the ability to test how new software will interact with their existing networks. Sowards says the company's new division, ENTRUST Labs, can simulate a client's network in a controlled environment and determine how a new software program will react with that system. He says it is critical to have that knowledge for the company to avoid any possible downtime. "We have customers call all the time and say 'I want to install this software' without ever knowing the ramifications," Sowards says.
